The Wrong Place!

Welcome our readers and friends from the US, India, the UK, Mexico, Germany, & Brazil  😉

Now, many employers require pre-employment drug test. Is this legal? According to government statistical sources, 81% of large employers require a drug-test from their prospective employees.

How would that affect the morale of these prospective employees? “Don’t take it personally, honey!”, one receptionist said to one of my students, who complained to our staff about that procedure.

Many large companies also claim that the government ask them to collect info from you, regarding your ethnicity, background, or disabilities. It is not true!

Employ

Employers tend to hold the belief that drugs are illegal and cause workers to lose days of work with related illnesses. They feel they have a right to hire healthy and reliable workers because they lose income when employees are our sick.

However, opponents to drug testing say it is a huge waste of time and money It costs thousands of dollars to  hire drug-testing companies, when the most dangerous drugs can’t even be detected. Some argue that the number of days off caused by alcohol-related illness outweigh any other drug, which is contradictory to the philosophy behind drug testing because alcohol is not included in the testing. 🙄

Ongoing frictions between employers and employee, but if you deeply think about it, you’d find that it’s the people who represent your employer, it is not the employer herself/himself. It’s rather like having the wrong person in the wrong place!

  2. How will employers keep their eyes on their employees’ use after they were hired?

Why do employers lie about government’s requirement regarding on their employees’ ethnicity, back ground or disability?

Why do people in general take alcohol less seriously than drug?

    1. – Sorry the first question is no clear.
      – They have reasons such as bias for certain ethnicity when taking the decision of hiring.
      – I don’t think that we can generalize this, coz many people take both very seriously.
      Thank you for your questions.
