Five more days to go and then it is a new year 2021. How do you feel about this? Happy Holidays!
Two days ago it was one more time a Christmas time and as usual people celebrate it in the US while there are other countries that do not such as:
- Saudi Arabia
- North Korea
These countries do not celebrate similar to what the US does for holidays such as Eid El-Fitr or Eid El Adha or Buddha Day, etc.. In this sense it is all religious feasts that are not yet recognized in some areas of the US.
If you think about it and since the US has all religions and creeds on Earth, it might be reasonable to celebrate all holidays since there are citizens from all kinds of religions. Some numbers are smaller than others but still it would give a room for more love among people who may get upset (not necessarily show that) because they only have to celebrate certain religious occasions that do not belong to them.
Needless to say, it is also a form of disrespect coz all the countries which do not celebrate Christmas they actually do not have Christian population while it is not the case here in the US.
It might feel as being left out when Hanukkah or Christmas are officially celebrated while a lot others are not officially recognized. In many States, however, when a person has a different faith, s/he is allowed to practice her/his faith celebratory occasions. This reflects more civilization and great emotions. In addition, it would prevent any malice or anger that is built up due to not celebrating certain religious occasions the way other occasions being handled.
Although it is hard to satisfy all people but it is about time to celebrate big occasions such as Ramadan and others to show the world the true civilized US culture and to promote the idea of all religions/faith are equal and that all aim at the goodwill for everyone.
