By now, you knew a number of rules about the endorsement of a check, another rule of signing a check is the name you write when signing. 
There has to be some conformity between the name which is writtien in the area of “Pay to the order of” and the name you put in your signture. For example, if the check is written to Tom Perry Mason, one can sign T P Mason, Tom P Mason, but you cannot omit Mason and sign only PM. You can add to the name i.e. Mr. T.P. Mason but you can’t skip part of the name although you can use abbreviation except for the last name.
