Since marriage is supposed to be for purposes irrelevant to making money, it is good to have separate accounts avoiding any future confusion.
At certain marriages, mostly for wealthy people, there is always a clear agreement about the money department before getting into real marriage. In many cases, these marriages ended, not for any particular reasons but separation was clearly set having such an agreement before marriage.
There is plenty to be said about the pros and the cons of having separate financial accounts. Although a few of them tend to say that being together in everything is good, the majority see the necessity of having separate entities for financial matters between the spouses and to be clear about it before getting engaged or starting a marriage commitment.
