Seniors need protection especially when it comes to landlord’s wrong doings! 😉
Rent exploitation is a well covered operation that is being done by a number of landlords or real estate management companies. Simply, it charges seniors a higher number in rent far over the supposed real value of the rental place.
The reason is just to make more money. It doesn’t matter that it involves scams and trickery for these elderly people who suffer from all kinds of unfair actions. Just being old and vulnerable is not enough reason to create crooks. There must be a way to punish such a category of deceitful minds.
Unfortunately, each state has its own laws for such dishonorable people who master the way they discriminate against seniors. So far what you can do is to file a complaint to your state committee which will investigate and help get you what was stolen but after a good fight.
Is it really necessary for seniors to go through such scams? Media should increase talking about these kinds of issues that give elderly and their relatives a hard time and it also should stress that there is punishment for those who commit such an act.
