Seniors need protection especially when it comes to landlord’s wrong doings! Rent exploitation is a well-covered operation that is being done by a number of landlords or some real estate management companies. Simply, it charges seniors a higher number in rent far over the supposed real value of the rental place.
In CA, supposedly, there is a station for each county to defend this class of people:
Each California County has an Adult Protective Services (APS) agency to help elder adults (60 years and older) and dependent adults (18-59 who are disabled), when these adults are unable to meet their own needs, or are victims of abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Making money in such a creepy way is illegal and unacceptable by honest minds. And although there are laws and efforts to save these seniors from crooks, it still does not work as fast as it should. Logistics in this area needs to be quicker and educating people about this kind of abuse can serve part of the problems.
