Hello and welcome to our new post. We’re approaching the 4th of July. You know what this means. A lot of celebrations, and a lot of fun. It coincide as I heard in the Radio while driving yesterday, with Ramadan end, and the celebration for Eid Al-Fitr, which is also a lot of celebrations, and a lot of fun.
I wish I could celebrate every single occasion in our whole beautiful world. I really love all the occasions where I see people happy laughing at each other engaging and relaxed.
My dear 1Zumba friend, here’s you question no. 33 in our 100 Questions competition:
Last week I had to go to San Jose, CA. I can’t tell you how hard it was for me to do that. Not because of the road or the distance, but coz of the similarity of street names. OMG. I used my GPS, the one in my car, and the one I had in my smart phone. Neither of them was able to locate exactly the address I was going to.
The joke was that It was a Federal Government building, or may be that was why the GPS couldn’t find it in the first place. I really don’t know the reason, but all I know is that I was taken to the exact address in another city near San Jose. When I tried to get from that spot to the correct spot, it took me 3 hours.
Every time, I followed the directions of my GPS or of someone who claimed that he knew where that address was, I ended up in nowhere. Of course you know how crowed the highway is when it’s time to go to work in the morning, or when you’re going back home at 5 pm
I gave up, n I stopped at a Starbucks for coffee, n I asked the attendants there if they knew that address, one of them volunteered to use her GPS, n she promptly said, it was right behind us. You wouldn’t imagine how I felt at that time. Oh! The other problem was to find a parking spot. But anyway, I took the directions n walked. It was 3 hours past my appointment time.
People were waiting for me for almost four hours, and every time, I had that thought in my mind, I felt terrible. I went to that description, I found a building for small businesses, where a hair salon lady told me she never heard about that address, and that on 4th St., and I should be on 3rd St.
Oh! Another thing was that 3rd St was one way, n 4th St was one way in the opposite direction, and I kept going back n forth between those two streets FOREVER!
So I called the people who were waiting one more time, who didn’t not answer, but getting my voice messages n acting accordingly, calling me back n leaving voice messages too. I told them I gave up, n that nobody knew where that building was.
I crossed the street, glanced accidentally at the corner, right opposite to my sight, that fancy building with its number in very large letters, n guess what, it was the damn building I was supposed to be in before four or five hours 😯
Reaching my destination, I wasn’t sure how to explain all that delay, except that they were apparently aware that that was happening to everyone who tried to reach them, so they were in no surprise, but I was 😯
My 1Zumba friend, thank you for your patience, love, support, n kindness. I’m blessed to have such wonderful friends. We’ll talk in few moments, give me your big hug 😉
