You think that you are the smartest person on Earth, but we have news for you: you might not be as smart as you think. You might be easily fooled by others around you. You might be cheated by the ones you trust.
You might be smart but not smart enough to discover the lies of your gf/bf. You might not realize that sometimes you lie to yourself just to accept things the way they are without disturbing the flow of your life.
But ask yourself this: is it healthy to know that your bf/gf is lying to you while doing nothing about it for the sake of the continuation in living a lie?
Why do you lie?

To protect a relationship from failing.

To pretend that you are more successful than others.

To avoid conflict and buy some time until you take your decision in separation.
Why do you prefer to live a lie rather than taking a step to fight it?

Not to hurt someone else’s feelings.

Trying to give a chance for the other person to see the lies.
Why do you lie to yourself?
It can be hard to figure out what you’re actually lying to yourself about, especially if you consider yourself to be generally a ‘good’ person.
However, the most common reason is that:
you tell yourself that your relationship will work because you want to avoid feeling like a ‘failure’ and being alone.
