ESL²!

Hearts and brains are never meant to be together! 😉

The English language is, like any other language, evolving. Not only that, it is also growing or diminishing. People control the usage of words, which means people are in control of the existence of words.

Linguists understand the nature of languages and how lately their evolution is quicker than before. SubTeachersTeachers of ESL could find difficulty during the process of teaching ESL students some aspects of the language, mainly bc the students are interested more in speaking the language and they try to avoid many of the other aspects of language such as grammar or others.

Therefore, the task of ESL teachers is a tough one bc they have to find a way to introduce important parts of the grammar to their students; one of them is “Prepositions“. Keep in mind that teachers themselves could have been raised in a community which used American or British English, which could add some difficulty too.

Prepositions in British English could be used differently from American English, and colloquial British English differs from colloquial American one. For example: Americans say (I will study in the weekend), while a Brit may say (I shall study at the weekend).

This reference will explain the issues with the prepositions, give you examples, and state a number of solutions that will help you in your ESL classes, given by experienced teachers.
