Why the society treat the mother or the mother in law unpleasantly?

It is unfortunate that in other cultures not only the American one, there is this negative image about your mother or your mother in law. This negative image came from different sources: TV, Media, Commercials, other foreign cultures, personal experiences, school chit-chat, and others.

Is it fair to have this notion against mothers?

Mothers or mothers in law are nothing but human beings. Mostly they are seniors. They did their part of raising up a pretty awesome grown up who is ready to get married or already got married.

One of the main reasons to rejecting living with your mother or mother in law is the idea that this mother disapprove of your marriage, which could be a 100% wrong. Why would she oppose you unless you feel that you’re not up to the level of your spouse? It is actually you who decide the matters. Even if you decide to marry someone whose your mother disapprove, still this mother should be respected and given her rights in everything.
