” Hello! Here’s my situation, can you help us with a good decision to take? Hello, My name is HR. For the last few years, I’ve been living with my father J.K. in our 2 bed/1 bath aparment in San Jose.
This past November, my mother broke her kneecap; since then, I’ve been looking after her pets and condo in east Pittsburg. Once she is able to return home from nursing care, I will need to continue to stay there with her for an indeterminate duration.
We’re now looking for a substitute/replacement roommate to take my place in our apartment as soon as possible, for at least six months and potentially for longer. I do hope that you will consider the opportunity, as it sounds like it could be a really wonderful solution for each of our situations.
My Dad is 77 years old, a full-time spiritual practicioner and teacher, and an amazingly kind, compassionate, respectful, and generous person. The apartment is an upstairs corner unit with newly rennovated floors and kitchen cabiets, gated parking, coin laundry on site, and a small pool in a lush courtyard.
The bedroom has a closet and is currently furnished with a full size bed, curtains, two dressers and two small bookcases; it could be rented as is, or unfurnished if you prefer. We put down a refundable security deposit of $2000 when we moved in, and ask that you pay a $1000 share of that, either all at move in or we would be ok with 5 monthly payments of $200 to cover it.
We ask that you pay half of the utilities, which would come to $40 for high speed internet (we’re on the fiber optic network that serves the county administration buildings, so it is the best service), plus usually between $60 (in winter) and $120 (in summer, for AC) for PG&E. For the room,
I’m currently paying $1000/month for my share of the rent, and would be happy to offer it to you at that rate either furnished or unfurnished. Please let me know if you are potentially interested in this situation! It sounds like it could be just perfect for your needs and ours 🙂
