Welcome back friends everywhere: the US, Germany, France, Taiwan, and India 😉
What a night! It felt like that!
First movie was the Hustlers. All in all it was not a new story. There has been a lot of talk about the financial crisis in 2008 and how people got affected by that in various industries.
Working girls hookers or bar girls stories also was not new idea. It’s one of thousands stories about earning money from suckers via nudity and other kinds of crooks methods.
The third point that was raised was justifying the con-art and promoting it asking the viewers to sympathize with the old grandmother’s conditions to practice adultery. The last one was Lopez and why she would accept a role like that after having such a big name, as if her uncovering her body meant nothing to her. Roy said it was true that we saw her naked before so nothing was new but it’s time for her to pick and choose her roles more carefully. “Nobody likes an old bitch,” as Julia Roberts once mentioned.
By the end of the movie, the majority voted 2 starts ** and a big R 🙄
The 2nd movie “Ready or Not” had an attractive title, as if it’s challenging you, but the group had a lot of criticism to:
. the high number of the bloody scenes presented they wee quite excessive for giving some extra horror but there was no need for that.
. Actors were living their roles however there was a weak theme and the scenes and the scenario as if it were taken from different movies. There was no single new scene. The story was poor and repeated.
