Why is it a rule? Is it a big mistake not to follow this rule? A lot of questions about the prepositions when you use it by the end of your sentence. You were probably taught not to do this at all bc “it’s wrong”, but the truth of the matter is that there are a lot of prepositions (100-150 according to different resources), and it is hard for ESL students to remember them all especially when they are tiny in structure maybe only two letters such as “in” or “to”.
Now, you say, it doesn’t matter and that you can use a preposition by the end of a sentence and nobody will blame you. Just keep a few rules aside for the linguists or other language professionals, and only pay attention to your communication. If you succeed in conveying your message to another party, this is what counts!
