Go Go Boy!

“Awesome” is the first word comes to mind, when you attend a class of 1Zumba with a passionate instructor, like Toby, who doesn’t hold back any efforts to have his class on fire! This is what makes Toby a master in 1Zumba

OMG! He did it again! It was a completely stunning class last Wednesday. The class was packed up, the instructor was Toby. Today, the same thing happens, every time I attend one of his classes, it is confirmed over and over again, that he is  very energetic, very enthusiastic, committed, and wholly loyal to 1Zumba.

TobThere are many instructors who have the same qualities like him, I cannot deny that, but the special thing about his class is that it is a combination of fun, exercise, performance, dancing, socializing, friendship, caring, building up long relationships with his attendants/clients.

I would say that he has the top customer service skills that you may expect, or can imagine, as it is said in  business. Probably the reason is that he’s been a manager with AT & T for many years, as he told me. Naturally, it  means that he is well-grounded in customers’ satisfaction metrics.

This is exactly how you should feel, when you find the right instructor and the right place, where you can attend your 1Zumba classes.

Toby responded to many questions I asked him, and I promise you that I will make his recordings available soon, once an audio gig is done. He mentioned: “From experience, I would like to share that not every instructor works well for everyone, coz we are different in our chemistry; what works for you probably wouldn’t work for me.”

Also, remember that the level of intensity is  considered relatively unidentified unit by each one. When I told John, a previous colleague, to come with me to a 1Zumba event, he said: “One hour of 1Zumba is equal to three hours of Gym, too much for me, haha!”

You would be amazed when you hear the stories, coming from “behind the curtains”, by 1Zumba wonks. Every  instructor, is basically a teacher, who is trying hard to lead a class of heterogeneous structure, and get it to be somehow homogeneous or fused in harmony with music and movements.

Mira asked me: “In what way? It’s just dancing!” Is this what you think? For me, it is not just a dancing class, and I can tell you that it is a very special class, where there is no curriculum to depend on, nor there is a traditional class plan, etc. 1Zumba is another world  ;)

The first time I saw Toby, it was the 5th time I was trying a 1Zumba class, in different Fitness Clubs, in the Bay Area. Right away I knew that that was the instructor I would be comfortable with.

Why don’t we better listen to or read what our 1Zumba Superstars say about their classes. In this way, we can figure out how these classes are formed, where they meet, who is in charge of any administrative work behind the scenes, what kind of preparations these classes need, what drive these instructors to choose this line of work, what kind of cons or pros an instructor may experience with one Zumba class, what problems each one of them faces or solves.

You would be astonished to see the other side of this 1Zumba Coin. Toby will explain how he became a Zumba instructor after being a Go Go Dancer or a Go Go Boy! ;)

Love you all. Our special thanks today are for our new friends from the US, Germany, Canada, Portugal, Australia, UK, New Zealand, Trinidad & Tobago, and to everyone else who sent us their requests for future interviews ;)
