You are the majority and you’ll be prevailing. It’s just a matter of time. History keeps repeating itself! 😉 Hello and welcome back dear friends from everywhere: the US, Tunisia, Canada, France, Spain, Nepal, Iceland, the UK, Norway, Romania, and Sweden 😉
That reminded me of the first time I tried to make a cake when I was in high school. I asked my mom if I can make a birthday cake. What I had in mind was like a fluffy spongy cake with some strawberries on the top and a lot of whipped cream. My mom said Ok and I ran to a recipe book from which I selected one special cake recipe. When I read the picture and its ingredients, I thought yes that was the one I wanted to try.
I prepared everything: the ingredients, the utensils, the oven’s temperature. I did the mixing of the ingredients after the sifting of the flour, adding the milk, the sugar, and the white of eggs. I did exactly everything written in that special recipe.
And voilà, the cake smelled fantastic fresh, but. But what? The top of the cake turned into icing or frost white layer, which I didn’t expect or intend to have in my cake. The surprise made me stopped and was plagued by that feeling of disappointment and failure.
I remember that the cake stayed in the refrigerator for two days, and I never even tried it. I was so unable to understand what went wrong and my mom didn’t give any comment, and I guess she saved me the trouble of thinking about it by getting rid of it. My mom was not fond of baking, so it didn’t matter to her.
Now I laugh when I remember that incident, and I understand that it wasn’t meant to be and may be that incident kept me away from the kitchen! I never tried again. Cooking was not one of my best skills. I was always more interested in the food decoration part and its taste when freshly made.
