You almost forgot what You’v seen in downtown Oakland, CA. Isn’t it amazing to see a young woman stop her vehicle in order to help an African American old man who was carrying his groceries with real difficulty.
The poor man was struggling very hard to walk and having two bags full of groceries the heavy kind: one of them was paper bag with two handles which gone broken one after the other, and all of its contents were spelt out on the ground, the other bag was a platic bag, the one with big hands but stronger than the paper one.
The guy was walking on the sidewalk while that occured to him passing by Walgreens pharmacy. None of pedestrian who were entereing the pahrmacy paid any attenton to him. In this area people avoid talking strangers even if they were old or disable, bc of the many mental cases whom could cause real trouble.
A young lady saw him when she was driving approaching the stoplight where she was on the right side of the road where that spell took place right next to her right side of the car.. Immediately she stopped her car and put on the flashing light and slowly approached the man, and asked him if he needed any help or if he like to get a ride along her way.
The man acted as if he was in a shock then he smiled and nodded his head yes. She started helping him collecting his stuff and used a good bag out of her trunk, put all his things in the trunk and opening the right front door for him to get in.
Unbelievable, right? You were watching everything from behind the glass of the pharmacy, part of you happy to see that reaction, and other part wondering if she knew that old man, but you didn’t think so. The way he acted confirmed that she was totally stranger to him, but isn’t that a heroic act that rarely happened? Nobody else you’ve ever seen doing that, but she did. Yes, she did.
