It is fascinating how Eids bring people together especially family, relatives, and friends. Eid Al-Adha is one of these feasts that spread the cheerfulness among its all attendants.
Eid Al-Adha is four days celebration which is one more day than Eid Al-Fitr which is three days, this is for a good reason. Pls do not suggest that it is 3 days, it is not. In 2022, it is the 10th-the 13th of July.
In the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah and lasts for four days. In the international (Gregorian) calendar, the dates vary from year to year, ……… More
Since this feast is similar to Thanksgiving in which a goat or a sheep replaces the turkey and becomes the main dish for that delicious dinner.
The other side of similarity is that the meat, which is provided cooked or uncooked to indigent people is shared in expression of thanks and gratitude to Al-Mighty Creator.
Not only meat is donated but also clothes and gifts- anything that would convey some happiness to poor people. New clothes are bought and worn as part of the celebration.
Going out to visit relatives is also a tradition that gives a chance to families to see each other; especially if they do not usually see each other during the year.
Of course, a lot of prayers which goes without saying asking The Creator for His blessing in everything they do.
