He asked me to read this book, and I said OK! Sure, why not? I checked up on my local library and gladly found the book. I made a reservation and I got it.
It was very interesting book. It is well-known in the worlds of management, marketing, and sales as it seems to be having praise from many people.
The writer is no longer alive but the book fortunately is maintained and updated by the person-in-charge.
It is called: “How to Win Friends & Influence People” and as you see from the title, it instantly hits your nerve creating some kind of curiosity.
The book has four parts, each one titled in the same way the book is named which makes it very attractive for your ego. You’ll find: Parts 1-4 has principles under each that go for interesting titles such as:
– Fundamental Techniques in Handling People.
– The Big Secret of Dealing with People
– He Who Can do this Has the Whole World with Him. He Who Cannot Walks a Lonely Way”
Part 2: Six Way to Make People Like You
– A Simple Way to Make a Good first Impression
– If You Do Not Do This You Are Headed for Trouble
– An Easy Way to Become a Good Conversationalist
– How to Interest People
Your mind is trapped by these titles craftily presented in the book’s index, but after reading the index there is an advice on how to read the book and make the utmost use out of it which is totally smart for sales.
If you read the book once and you didn’t make use of it, you’ll blame yourself not reading it twice as you were advised at the beginning of the book.
Anyway, you start reading the book and you’ll be very careful when you read coz you don’t want to miss any good workable advice, right?
Then you’ll find the author taking you into his world of knowing other people, training some famous individuals, being invited to special events, participating in educational events, etc.
You’ll think in your mind: Wow! That guy is the one I want to be, how did he do that? Or maybe not yet.
Some funny incidents will make you laugh, and other situations will remind you of something similar that happened to you, so you’ll think: “Oh, it happened to you too?”
You’ll continue reading to know this person more and to see where the similarities are between his life and yours and if he had all those achievements could you do the same using his advice.
By the end of the book, you’ll be convinced that the writer is a very good salesman. He was able to sell you his book even after his death, using the words that brought your attention to what is to him, a valuable book that contained all the nice memories he had in his life and which for him constituted a reference for being successful and likable.
